Reduce Redness

Filed under: Quick Make Up Tips — Tags: , , — admin @ 7:21 am

Many women with a ruddy, over red, or blotchy complexion make the mistake of using the palest foundation they can find in an attempt to cover this.

Max Factor Colour Adapt Foundation.

But many very pale foundations have a pink undertone which can actually make the redness worse!

Go for a beige foundation to correct the redness and even out your skin tones.

A little known bonus of a red complexion is that bronzers look much better and more natural on you than on a paler skinned women.

Get Those Summer Toes Twinkling!

Filed under: Quick Make Up Tips — Tags: , — admin @ 8:11 pm

Here in the Cosmetics4less office we are all in sandals or even flip flops now that the warm weather is well and truly here.

So now is the time to make sure our feet are fit to be seen in public! Toe nails are often not the most attractive so always wear nail polish in open-toed shoes.

l'Oreal Resist and Shine Titanium Nail Polish, shade 525

Pale, subtle shades are a waste of effort on summer-time toes.  Go for bright colours, deep shades, neon shades and even sparkling nail polish. Make sure the colour tones in with your shoes or if you are going for the clash make sure it’s intentional.

In our Nail Polish and Treatments section we have dozens of fantastic shades, from only 99p each.

Smokin Eyeliner!

Filed under: Quick Make Up Tips — Tags: , — admin @ 6:35 pm

Instead of using eyeliner for daily make-up use powder eyeshadow applied with a very narrow brush to give a smokey, modern appearance to the edge of the eyes.

Bourjois Eyeshadow in Taupe Paillettes.

Smudge further if necessary with a larger brush. Or you can use a damp applicator and use the powder wet for a sharper line of colour.

If you must use a pencil then try running it under hot water before you apply it, this will give a deeper, smudged smokey effect.

Put the pencil into the fridge after using it like this so it retains its shape.

Concealer, Not just for Eyes!

Filed under: Quick Make Up Tips — Tags: — admin @ 5:02 pm

At Cosmetics4less we know how useful concealer is for covering dark under eye circles and for hiding blemishes but it can be used for much more.

Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer.

Use it to cover the slight uneven skin tone at the cleft and hollow of your chin and where your nose meets your face. In fact you can use concealer anywhere that the skin needs a little more help than your foundation can give.

Don’t forget to set and finish with a little translucent powder.

Get the Benefit Without the Price Tag!

We all love Benefit’s little square, cardboard box Blushers, Bronzers and Highlighter powders but at more than £20.00 each they are not an everyday purchase for most of us.

W7, Honolulu, Africa, Double Act and Candy Floss.

So here at Cosmetics4less we are thrilled with the new W7 versions of these fabulous products. There is a Blusher and Bronzer duo called Double Act, a Bronzer called Honolulu, a gorgeous multi-toned Bronzer called Africa and a Complexion Highlighter called Candy Floss. They all come with a brush included.

We have tried them all out and they compare really well with their expensive counterparts and from only £2.99 each from Cosmetics4less, why don’t you give them a try? Let us know what you think.
