Sheer foundation is best for freckled skin, which can look unnatural if a heavy foundation which does not allow the freckles to show at all, is used.
Use a concealer first and then aim for the natural look.
Most people find freckles attractive, honestly!
Layering fragrance is a great way to make it last longer, but what if your favourite fragrance dosn’t have a matching Body Lotion?
No problem just buy an unperfumed body lotion, put some in a glass jar and add a few dropsĀ of perfume to it, stir in well.
Make this up in small quantities to avoid it going off.

Never smile while you are applying blusher, this will add years to your appearance.
So many people do this but when you smile tiny crinkles appear in the skin of your face, whatever your age, and the colour cannot penetrate fully into them. So when you relax your face you are left with lines that look like wrinkles!
Not a good idea at all. Keep your face nice and relaxed when you apply any kind of colour to your skin.
To get an ultra fine point on your make up pencils always use a sharpener made for make up pencils and put the pencils in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before you sharpen them. This trick is especially useful in the hot weather.

If you want your eye make up to last and stay fresh then this will make all the difference.
Most people are not aware of this but your eyelids are one of the oiliest parts of your face, well endowed with the same oil you find in your t-zone, around the nose and chin.
If you do not prepare then your eye make up will just slide off in no time at all. Follow the steps below and it will last all day with out touch ups.
First cleanse your lids with a water based cleanser or alchohol and oil free baby wipes. Make sure whatever you use is completely oil free. Do not moisturise your eye lids afterwards.
Then apply a little oil free foundation to the eye area. Your eyelids have a natural colour in the red and blue colour spectrum. This can alter the colour of your eyeshadow so using foundation will give you a neutral base canvas and keep your colours true.
Then lightly powder your eyelids with translucent powder. I find a cotton bud is the best thing for this.
Go and do something else for 5 minutes to give it time to set and then apply your eye make up as usual.
Forget the little applicators and brushes that come with eye shadows, blushers and powder compacts and invest in some good make up brushes. This can be the difference between an OK make up result and a professional result.
Probably the most important is a big, soft brush for blusher, powder, bronzer and highlighter. You will be amazed at the difference using something like this will make. Use gentle sweeping strokes for natural, velvet soft effects.
Also very useful are eye shadow brushes. You will need a large, soft brush to cover the whole eye area, a chisel shape and a small brush.
A lip brush can help make your lipstick last longer so may be worth a try and an eye brow brush is a must.
